What’s with My Handwriting?

How years of typing and texting has turned my handwriting to mush

I’ve always wanted ‘cool’ handwriting. I once had a boss who had the coolest handwriting. She was a terrible boss, probably the worst ever, but her handwritten passive aggressive notes were a thing of beauty.

I took a good long look at my notebook the other day and it’s not just that my handwriting is hard to read, it’s messy and has no style.

Why do I care so much about my handwriting? I have no idea. Maybe as I’m the only one who is looking at my work notes every day it’s started to bug me how unkempt and downright lazy it all looks.

I could chalk it up to decades of typing and texting instead of taking pen to paper, but that excuse only goes so far.

My best friend has the loveliest handwriting. She’s had the same perfect lettering since 5th grade. She takes great pride in every word and it shows — mine looks like a dumpster fire in comparison.

Luckily the Internet is full of support for those of us wanting to better ourselves in every single capacity, including changing our handwriting.

I found a great tutorial from revisign on YouTube and while it’s going to take serious practice I actually think I’m on to something.

And who knows, now that I’m on the cusp of cool handwriting, you may find a note in your mailbox— l promise it won’t be passive aggressive.
